As a new client of the BoogieText™ marketing program, the foundation of which is SMS (Short Message Service) broadcasting of mobile phone text messages, you're already aware of the facts:
Multi-million dollar companies spend tens of thousands of dollars annually to build or rent the SMS broadcast technology needed to take advantage of these facts. You now have the same technology at your fingertips (literally!) from BoogieText™ at a miniscule fraction of the cost. In other words, BoogieText™ has leveled the playing field, and now you're right up there with the big boys!
To help you start your BoogieText™ marketing program with the same advantages as the big boys, we start with an initial setup consultation by phone. It's a "get acquainted" session, so we'll interview you about your business to explore what it does, and you can ask any questions you like.
We'll help you devise a promotion for the automatic text message response a new subscriber receives. We'll also discuss the most effective types of future text message promotions for your business.
Of course, the initial consultation won't be the only time you can talk with us. BoogieText™ Support is available by toll-free phone during normal business hours, as well as by email.
Naturally, you're eager to put the extremely powerful marketing tools of BoogieText™ to work for your business, but before you can start sending text message coupons and advertising, you need someone to receive them. You need to build your subscriber list.
We have compiled some suggestions for building your text message subscriber list to help you get started. You can access these recommendations by clicking on the "Building Your Subscriber List" tab above.
Building a text message subscriber list may seem like a daunting task, at first. However, you'll soon discover that people will enthusiatically join when they are informed how easy it is to sign up, and understand that they will receive a money-saving offer by doing so.
How does a potential subscriber opt-in to your list? It's very simple. You've seen the big boys' commercials on TV which request the viewer to text a keyword to some number in order to receive something the commercial is offering. A subscriber joins your list in exactly the same way. He texts your custom keyword (BoogieWord) to 70000 (an easily remembered number) and receives an instant reward: Your message which includes a coupon or discount. In the future, you can send instant text message promotions to these subscribers. It's almost like creating sales on demand!
If you have an existing contact list of text-capable mobile phone users, you can import this list directly into your BoogieText™ distribution list. Your list must be in a ".csv" format, and the contacts must have already given you permission to send text messages to them. In other words, the list must be "permission-based".
We'll create a new subscriber signup form for your business web site. Once the form is ready, we'll provide your web designer with the information needed to integrate it into your existing site. Subscribers can then add their names and mobile phone numbers directly to your distribution list right from your business web site.
If you don't already have Facebook and Twitter pages for your business, we'll create them for you. Even if you already have them set up, we'll link the pages to your BoogieText™ account.
When you log in to the Client section of the BoogieText™ web site, under the link "Marketing Tools" (in the left margin) you'll find templates for fliers and table tents that you can modify to include your BoogieWord. You can make your own modifications or ask your printer to make them.
If designing your own signs to solicit text message subscribers, keep the signs simple, following the general format:
Post your signs near each cash register, at every entrance/exit, and in any other highly visible location. If your business has street exposure, post a large sign that can be read by passing vehicles. (It will have to be very short: "Text [Your BoogieWord] To 70000 — Immediate Savings!') This can gain subscribers for you that normally might never enter your storefront.
Whether you hand out flyers, postcards, business cards, or promotional items such as pens, coffee cups, or tee shirts, be certain your subscriber list solicitation is included on them. Often overlooked "handouts" are price tags, sales transaction slips, and invoices. In brief, have your subscriber solicitation appear on anything that goes into the possession of a potential subscriber. Use stickers or rubber stamps to fill the gap until you can update printed materials.
Some businesses (such as a CPA, for example) don't have a high level of foot traffic. In such cases, emailing your subscriber solicitation to your customer base might be sufficient, but spam filters can cause many emails to go unread, and email addresses can change. To assure a near 100% contact rate, compile a postal mailing list from your customer base and contact your clients with postcards, which is far less costly than first class mail.
Alternatively, designate employees to phone your customers with your subscriber solicitation. It's a perfect excuse to "touch base" with your clients, and even better, the caller could potentially "walk the client through" the subscriber signup process while on the phone.
No matter which print medium you use — newspapers, magazines, billboards, or phone books — it's important to include your subscriber solicitation in your ad. Some readers will subscribe to your text message list just because they are curious about what you have to offer. Text them the right offer, and they will become customers.
At every opportunity, have your employees talk about your text message subscriber list, emphasizing the benefits the customer will receive as a subscriber. If at all possible, have the employee help the customer sign up for your text message list on the spot. The new subscriber instantly receives your signup offer, and can take advantage of it immediately.
Perhaps your present advertising budget won't stretch far enough to pay for TV or radio commercials. Then how do you reach potential subscribers? Use the same less-costly methods that you now use to advertise your business, as discussed above. However, as your business grows, perhaps those airwave commercials won't seem so far out of reach ...
The suggestions above aren't the only means of publicizing your new text message subscriber list, just a few to get you started. We're sure you can come up with other ideas as well. The larger your subscriber list is, the more successful your text message promotions will be. Don't ever stop encouraging people to join your list, because you want it to keep growing.
